Trafalgar

FOUND IN:

The famous Battle of Trafalgar in 1805 effectively saved Britain from invasion by Napoleon. In the 'Boney' chapter of SARUM, an account is given of Admiral Nelson's great battle, some of the ships involved, and the press gang system that provided the crews. The story especially concerns two ships, the little frigate 'Euryalus' and the 'Swiftsure', both built at Bucklers Hard in the New Forest, and the latter commanded by the author's ancestor, William Gordon Rutherfurd.
