Bucklers Hard

Bucklers Hard lies beside the river on the Beaulieu estate in the New Forest. Here, on the river bank, many of the great fighting ships of Nelson's navy were built using New Forest oaks. These include the 'Swiftsure' and the 'Euryalus' which appear in the 'Boney' chapter of SARUM. The story of this eighteenth century shipyard is told in the 'Albion Park' chapter of THE FOREST.
